Roberto Toledo Arrested after DUI Crash near Mojave Drive
VICTORVILLE, CA (October 15, 2018) – An 8-year-old boy was hospitalized Monday evening following a rear-end collision on El Evado Road. His name and place of residence were not immediately released.
The incident took place at about 7:37 PM at the intersection of Mojave Drive and El Evado Road. A 2010 Chevy Traverse SUV was heading west at a high rate of speed when it slammed into the rear of a 2016 Chrysler 300 sedan that was stopped at a red light.
Witnesses rushed to the scene and found a young passenger unconscious as a result of the impact. He was taken by ground ambulance to the Loma Linda University Medical Center. Further details on his current medical condition were not provided. It is unknown whether or not the driver of the Chrysler suffered injuries in the crash.
Meanwhile, the SUV driver, later identified as 29-year-old Roberto Toledo of Victorville, was arrested and booked at the High Desert Detention Center for driving while under the Influence resulting in bodily injury. No additional information has been disclosed at this time, as an investigation is ongoing.
