RIVERSIDE, CA (April 30, 2020) – Late Tuesday morning, a 78-year-old Riverside man died in surgery after a car accident on Main Street.

According to the Riverside Police Department, the incident occurred on Main Street and Placentia Lane. Dispatchers arrived to the area shortly after 11:00 a.m., on April 28.

Reports from police revealed that the elderly man was driving a Toyota Camry north on Main Street. As he drove into the intersection on Placentia Lane, a 21-year-old female driver of a Toyota Tacoma was traveling west.

She then approached the intersection to make a left turn and struck the Toyota. Emergency responders transported the man to a nearby hospital for further treatment.

Reports also stated that the man whose identity hasn’t been disclosed was later pronounced dead at the hospital

The impact of the crash left the woman with minor injuries. Officers also say she did not have the right of way at the time of the collision.
