Pedestrian Hurt in San Diego Accident on La Jolla Boulevard

 
SAN DIEGO, CA (August 6, 2020) – Tuesday afternoon, a 77-year-old man suffered injuries in a pedestrian crash on La Jolla Boulevard.
 
The incident happened on La Jolla Boulevard and Nautilus Street intersection, said Officer Heims of the San Diego Police Department.
 
According to reports, a 76-year-old male driver of a Toyota Prius entered the intersection despite a red light. Thus, he broadsided a 63-year-old man’s Ford F150 that had driven into the intersection on a green light.
 
Afterward, the Ford spun and hit the pedestrian on the southwest corner of Nautilus Street and La Jolla Boulevard.
 
The impact left the pedestrian with a Tibia/Fibula fracture in his left leg and other serious injuries. Meanwhile, the driver of the Toyota had a minor cut on his face. On the other hand, the Ford’s driver was uninjured.
 
The San Diego Police Department’s Traffic Division spearheads the crash investigation. Also, the police do not believe that drugs or alcohol played a role in the crash.
