Fatal Reedley Bicycle Accident on South Avenue
REEDLEY, CA (October 1, 2019) – A 76-year-old man died in a car and bicycle accident on South Avenue on September 29.
As the elderly rode his bike at about 6:00 p.m., he then headed into the path of a vehicle on South Avenue and Buttonwillow Avenue, CHP spokesperson Mike Salas revealed.
The 19-year-old vehicle driver couldn’t stop in time and collided with the bicyclist. The bicycle rider succumbed to his injuries at a local hospital a short time later.
The CHP believes that the unidentified bicyclist may have been under the influence of alcohol.
Furthermore, officers revealed that the occupants of the car didn’t suffer any injury.
