75-Year-Old Pedestrian Struck and Killed on South Mollison Avenue [El Cajon, CA]

Person Killed in South Mollison Avenue Pedestrian Accident

 
El Cajon, CA (October 8, 2020) – On Wednesday, a 75-year-old pedestrian was struck and killed on South Mollison Avenue.
 
El Cajon police Lt. Jason Taub said the accident took place at 7:40 p.m. as the victim was crossing the avenue south of Main Street.
 
Authorities did not release the name or gender of the victim. Though, the witnesses said the victim was not in a marked crosswalk at the time of the accident.
 
Apparently, a vehicle slowed down for the pedestrian, however, the driver of a southbound Acura did not see the person in the roadway.
 
The Acura struck the victim. Immediately, the police and Heartland Fire & Rescue personnel provided life-saving efforts to the victim but still died at the scene.
 
Moreover, the Acura driver stayed at the scene and cooperated with investigators.
 
Investigators don’t consider the driver was under the influence of alcohol or drugs.
 
Meanwhile, authorities closed Mollison Avenue between Main Street and Lexington Avenue during the investigation.
