1 Dead in Petaluma Crash on Bodega Avenue

 
PETALUMA, CA (August 20, 2020) – Tuesday morning, a 75-year-old man from Sonoma died in an accident on Bodega Avenue.
 
The authorities responded to the scene around 6:20 a.m. on Bodega Avenue and Pepper Road. According to the CHP, an SUV crashed with a fuel truck in an unincorporated area of Sonoma County near Petaluma.
 
The officers found out that a southbound Ford Explorer driver on Pepper Road halted at the T-intersection with Bodega Avenue. Then, the driver made a left turn into the path of a westbound three-axle fuel truck on Bodega Avenue.
 
The impact of the crash forced the Explorer to spun out of the road and into a dirt embankment. Then, the vehicle rolled over.
 
As a result, the Explorer driver succumbed to injuries at the scene. Due to pending family notification, his identity remains unreleased.
 
Meanwhile, the 65-year-old male fuel truck driver from Petaluma didn’t suffer any injury.
 
The CHP does not believe that alcohol or drugs played a role in the crash.
