1 Dead in Escondido Auto Accident on Centre City Parkway

 
ESCONDIDO, CA (September 29, 2020) – Friday night, a 74-year-old man died in a DUI crash on Centre City Parkway in Escondido.
 
According to reports, the incident happened around 8:00 p.m. A southbound Toyota Tacoma traveled the wrong way on Centre City Parkway, just north of Jesmond Dene Road. Then, it crashed into a southbound Nissan Murano, a midsize SUV, CHP Officer Mark Latulippe revealed.
 
As a result, both of them sustained major injuries and were transported to a hospital. However, the 74-year-old Nissan driver from Escondido succumbed to his injuries. The authorities haven’t disclosed his identity as of this time.
 
Meanwhile, the authorities arrested the pickup driver on suspicion of driving while intoxicated and causing a head-on crash.
 
The crash on Centre City Parkway remains under investigation.
