1 Dead and 2 Injured in Laughlin Car Crash
LAUGHLIN, NV (September 2, 2019) – A 73-year-old man died while two others sustained injuries in a car crash on Bruce Woodbury Drive.
Officers responded to Bruce Woodbury Drive and Thomas Edison Avenue around 2:14 p.m. on August 30 after receiving reports of the collision.
68-year-old Jonny Mercer drove a westbound 2014 Ford Focus on Bruce Woodbury, approaching Thomas Edison Avenue. In addition, a Laughlin man sat in the passenger seat while 55-year-old Ana Toledo from Fort Mohave, AZ, sat in the rear passenger seat.
The eastbound 2008 Mercedes-Benz CLS550 driver on Bruce Woodbury tried to turn left and head to north on Thomas Edison Avenue. The Mercedes’ front crashed into the Ford in the intersection.
The Las Vegas police revealed that responders transported all Ford’s occupants to Western Arizona Medical Center in Bullhead City, Arizona. However, the 73-year-old man died at the hospital.
Meanwhile, Jonny Mercer and Ana Toledo both sustained serious injuries.
Authorities suspect that the Mercedes driver suffered impairment. As a result, police booked him under suspicion of DUI.
