70-Year-Old Watsonville Woman Injured in Collision on Highway 1 [Santa Cruz, CA]

Santa Cruz, CA (April 8, 2025) – A 70-year-old Watsonville woman was injured following a vehicle collision on Highway 1 Sunday evening.

CHP officers said a 21-year-old man driving a gray Lexus crashed into a silver Ford Fusion driven by the Watsonville woman.

The Ford Fusion rolled over and landed between the right lane highway and the Mar Monte Avenue on-ramp.

As a result, the woman incurred major injuries and was airlifted to a hospital.

The authorities arrested the man for felony reckless driving. He sustained minor injuries.

In the meantime, the authorities are investigating the cause of the collision.
