FONTANA, CA (December 27, 2019) – Seven people, including four juveniles, sustained injuries in a car accident on Ceres Avenue on December 18.

The crash happened at around 9:30 p.m. when a Fontana School Police officer tried to stop a Honda. However, the driver – an adult male – immediately fled, driving westbound on Ceres Avenue.

The Honda didn’t stop at the intersection at Citrus Avenue and crashed into a southbound Mini-SUV, Lt. Lee Powell, the acting chief of the FUSD Police Department revealed.

A family of six occupied the mini-SUV. Responders transported all six to a hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries. Meanwhile, the male adult suffered a broken leg.

The driver of the stolen Honda also sustained injuries and got hospitalized. He will be facing charges.

Driving can be very dangerous and almost anything can happen if you are not prepared. As a result, it is important to always drive within the posted speed limit. In addition, slow down if you see traffic stalling ahead to avoid hitting other vehicles.
