67-Year-Old Woman Killed in Rollover Crash at Merced Falls Road and Hornitos Road [SNELLING, CA]

Passenger Dies after Vehicle Overturns on Merced Falls Road in Snelling

 
SNELLING, CA (February 6, 2020) – A 67-year-old woman was killed in a rollover crash Thursday afternoon in Merced County.
 
The fatal crash happened around 2:30 p.m. on Merced Falls Road, just west of Hornitos Road.
 
According to the California Highway Patrol, a vehicle was traveling east on Merced Falls Road when it veered off the right shoulder. The driver overcorrected, lost control causing the vehicle to overturn.
 
A female passenger, who was not wearing a seat belt, was ejected and died at the scene. Her name was not immediately available.
 
The driver, 80-year-old William Carroll, sustained minor injuries.
 
CHP officials did not rule out drugs and alcohol as factors in the crash. Further investigation is underway.
