Martha Barajas Fatally Struck on Ninth Street

Turlock, CA (November 19, 2021) – On Wednesday, 66-year-old Martha Barajas sustained fatal injuries in a Ninth Street pedestrian accident.

It was about 5 p.m. when the authorities responded to the crash scene at the Lander Avenue intersection.

When the officers arrived, they learned that Barajas was struck by a dark GMC Sierra.

Meanwhile, an off-duty nurse performed CPR on Barajas quickly after the incident.

The paramedics rushed Barajas to a hospital where she later died.

Moreover, investigators said Barajas was walking east in a crosswalk on Lander Avenue when the northbound pickup truck driven by a 43-year-old man struck her.

Police said the involved driver remained on the scene and cooperated with the investigation. Officers said alcohol and drugs do not play a part in the crash.
