1 Dead in Elko Accident on Mountain City Highway
ELKO, NV (September 10, 2020) – Friday afternoon, a 65-year-old Elko woman died in a crash on Mountain City Highway, the police revealed.
According to reports, at around 5:10 p.m., a 27-year-old Spring Creek woman driving a Jeep Gladiator struck an Elko woman. The victim was reportedly returning to her vehicle parked at a gas station/convenience store when the crash occurred.
Responders took the woman to Northeastern Nevada Regional Hospital. Unfortunately, she later succumbed to her injuries at the hospital.
“It appears congestion around the gas pumps and poor visibility caused by the setting sun were both factors in the accident,” the Elko police stated.
The Elko Police and the Nevada Highway Patrol are working together in investigating the crash.
