Male Pedestrian Fatally Struck by Vehicle near Hill Street
CAPITOLA, CA (October 6, 2018) – A man was killed Saturday evening following a pedestrian crash on Bay Avenue near Hill Street. The identity of the 60-year-old victim is being withheld, pending notification of next of kin.
According to the Capitola Police Department, the incident took place at about 8:30 PM in the 800 block of Bay Avenue. The victim was walking across the street when he was struck by a vehicle that was exiting a parking lot.
The pedestrian, who was critically injured, was transported to the Dominican Hospital for treatment and medical evaluation. Unfortunately, he succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead by medical staff. Meanwhile, the 50-year-old woman driving the vehicle remained at the crash site and cooperated with investigators.
Alcohol and drugs were ruled out as possible contributing factors in the crash, which remains under investigation. No further details have been provided to the public at this time.
