Driver Man Arrested in Upland Fatal Hit-and-Run Crash
Upland, CA (December 9, 2023) – A 59-year-old female pedestrian was killed in a Foothill Boulevard collision Wednesday night.
The fatal hit-and-run collision happened at about 9:15 p.m. on December 6 near Wilson Avenue.
Officers said the woman was crossing Foothill Boulevard outside of a crosswalk when she was hit by a vehicle driver by a 27-year-old Upland man.
Responding medical team rushed the woman to a hospital where she later died.
Meanwhile, the driver continued driving and flagged down an officer approximately 20 minutes after the collision in a parking lot at Mountain Avenue and Foothill Boulevard.
The authorities arrested the driver on suspicion of felony hit-and-run. Officers added that they arrested the man because drivers are required to stop right away after the accident, no matter who appears to be at fault.
The driver was booked into the West Valley Detention Center in Rancho Cucamonga, where he posted bail.
Officers are still investigating.
