Female’s Death is 7th Pedestrian Fatality on Roads in Apple Valley
Apple Valley, CA (April 09, 2022) On Thursday, a 59-year-old woman died in a pedestrian-vehicle collision on Highway 18.
The Apple Valley Sheriff’s Station says the fatal crash happened around 9:45 p.m. at the intersection of outer South Highway 18 and Tonikan Road.
Reports say that a vehicle struck a 59-year-old woman walking along outer Highway 18.
Authorities say that the driver of an eastbound white GMC Sierra failed to notice the female was walking on the same roadway.
Rescuers say the female sustained serious injuries and rescuers took her to Providence St. Mary Medical Center where she later died due to her injuries.
The Apple Valley Fire Protection District and American Medical Response provided assistance at the scene just west of Central Road.
Officials closed the intersection of outer South Highway 18 and Tonikan Road during their investigation.
Additionally, the Apple Valley woman was identified as homeless, her identification is not available until her kin is notified.
