58-Year-Old Woman Injured in Pedestrian Accident on Village at Mira Mesa [Mira Mesa, CA]

Mira Mesa, CA (December 17, 2021) – On Wednesday, a 58-year-old woman sustained serious injuries in a pedestrian accident in Village at Mira Mesa shopping center.

The collision happened after 5:40 p.m. on Mira Mesa Road near Camino Ruiz.

Officers said a 43-year-old male driver in a 2014 Toyota Corolla was looking for a parking spot. He went down an aisle and accidentally struck the walking victim. 

The victim was stuck underneath the vehicle until firefighters arrived. The emergency responders used tools to lift the car off of her.

Immediately, the emergency team took her to a hospital with internal bleeding and a brain bleed.
