Male Pedestrian Fatally Struck by Pickup Truck near Winton Parkway
LIVINGSTON, CA (November 19, 2018) – A man was killed early Monday evening following a pedestrian accident on Highway 99. The identity of the 57-year-old victim is being withheld, pending notification of next of kin.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the incident happened near Winton Parkway, at about 5:17 PM. A pedestrian was walking in the center divider of southbound Highway 99 when he stepped into the No. 1 lane. There, he was struck by a 2018 Ford F-150 pickup truck driven by 58-year-old Ronnie Williams of Hanford.
The victim suffered fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene by emergency responders. Williams and his passenger, 66-year-old Sharon Williams of Hanford, remained and cooperated with investigators. No other injuries were reported by the authorities.
An investigation is ongoing to determine the cause of the fatal collision and to identify possible contributing factors. No arrests have been made, and neither drugs nor alcohol is believed to have played a role in the incident. Additional information will be released once it becomes available.
