1 Hurt in Pacific Beach Accident on Bayard Street
PACIFIC BEACH, CA (Februrary 3, 2020) – A 50-year-old man in a wheelchair sustained injuries in an accident on Bayard Street.
According to reports, he had been drinking when he rolled his wheelchair into the path of an oncoming vehicle. The crash broke his leg. The incident occurred just after 6:00 p.m. on Bayard Street and Grand Avenue, San Diego Police Officer Robert Heims said.
The man in the wheelchair reportedly rolled into the intersection despite a red light. Meanwhile, the 2008 Nissan Versa driven by a 33-year-old woman traveled east on Grand Avenue and had a green light and a right of way during the crash.
The Nissan’s female driver didn’t suffer from impairment. The SDPD traffic division is currently investigating the crash.
