50-Year-Old Woman Transported Following Bus Accident on University Avenue [San Diego, CA]

San Diego, CA (March 15, 2025) –  A woman sustained multiple foot fractures following a bus accident on University Avenue Thursday afternoon.

SDPD officers responded around 4:54 p.m. to the accident in the 6000 block area. 

Officers said a 63-year-old MTA bus driver was stopped along the south curbline. At the same time, a woman leaned down to pick up a water bottle that had fallen into the street in front of the bus’s rear right tire.

The woman fell forward, and another person helped her by pulling her back from the path of the bus. 

However, the woman’s left foot was still in the street when the bus approached, and it ran over it.

Immediately, the woman was rushed to a hospital with multiple fractures and loss of skin from the ankle down.

The department’s Traffic Division is investigating the accident. The authorities asked anyone who may have details on this accident to call 858-495- 7800 or Crime Stoppers at 888-580-8477.
