Multi-Vehicle Crash on Interstate 15 Injured 5 People

Fallbrook, CA (September 4, 2020) – On Thursday, five people were injured in a multi-vehicle crash on Interstate 15.

North County Fire said a semi-truck overturned on northbound Interstate 15 around 2:44 p.m. on September 3. Apparently, the crash involved two other vehicles, south of Highway 76.

California Highway Patrol reported two people needed rescue in two different vehicles.

North County Fire’s John Choi said, “(The injured have) been transported to various area hospitals all of them non-life-threatening, thankfully.” “Some are going to have to have trauma resources because of the contributing factors of the mechanism of rescue. But outside of that, they’re going to walk out of this alive. So, that’s good.”

The incident blocked all northbound lanes of traffic on Interstate 15.

As of 3:08 p.m., the authorities opened the No. 1 lane of the freeway. The three others were still closed along with the southbound onramp to the Interstate 15 northbound onramp.

The closures and the Sig Alert issued were still in place as of 4:10 p.m.

California Highway Patrol said a minivan and a Toyota Tacoma were involved in the crash, and they are investigating the incident.

As of yet, the agency has not reported any possible cause of the crash.

Also, Choi said neighboring agencies from Pala Fire Department, Deer Springs, and Vista contributed to the rescues and care of patients.

Practice safe driving habits on the road at all times… even when it is empty, even when there is no police officer around to make sure you make a full and complete stop.
