Two-Car Collision on Rancho Del Oro Drive and Mesa Drive Injures 5 People

Oceanside, CA (July 14, 2020) – On Monday afternoon, 5 people were injured in a two-car collision on Rancho Del Oro Drive and Mesa Drive.

The accident happened at about 4:25 p.m. when one of the vehicles ran a red light, causing the collision.

The vehicle then flipped and landed upside down after hitting another car that was about to turn on a green light.
Moreover, rescuers freed 2 people who were trapped in one vehicle and another one person trapped in the other car.
Reports said that 5 people were injured, wherein 3 of them sustained serious injuries.

Meanwhile, Medics airlifted an 11-year-old child to Rady Children’s Hospital in San Diego, and the other two victims were airlifted to other hospitals.

Also, the two other victims had moderate injuries, rescuers took them by ambulance to hospitals.

All 5 victims were expected to survive.

Investigators don’t believe alcohol was a factor in the crash. They are investigating a possible mechanical issue with the car that ran the red light.

Authorities closed the intersection for more than four hours until it was reopened around 8:30 p.m.

Do not use any gadgets, like mobile phones while driving. Doing so could lead to several road accidents.

What To Do in Case of a Crash

Roadways, while scrupulously created and mapped for efficient travel, are one of the most dangerous settings.

It is therefore important to know how to proceed in case you find yourself involved in a traffic collision.

In fact, each year, around 20-50 million people are injured or become disabled due to an auto crash.

Here is how to proceed if you find yourself involved in a crash:

Before anything else, seek medical attention if you have been hurt.

Then, get to a safe place to prevent further damage or injury.

Also, collect as much information as possible: insurance and contact information of people involved in the accident, and pictures/videos of vehicles involved. Do not forget to include documentation of fault, and whatever else that can be used for evidence.

Additionally, file a police report or incident report by calling 911.
