1 Hospitalized after Mount Vernon Auto Accident on 5 Freeway
MOUNT VERNON, WA (August 4, 2020) – Thursday night, a man sustained injuries in a hit-and-run rollover crash on 5 Freeway.
According to State Patrol trooper Anthony Reese, a red Honda driver drove recklessly. He also cut off other drivers and led the 42-year-old Snohomish man’s Jeep to overturn and crash. The incident happened at 5:00 p.m. on 5 Freeway, south of milepost 224.
Reese added that responders transported the Jeep driver to Skagit Valley Hospital with minor head injuries. The crash totaled the Jeep and towing services responded to haul the vehicle from the crash scene.
Furthermore, the Mount Vernon Fire Department and Skagit County Fire District 3 both came to the scene.
State Patrol trooper Anthony Reese revealed that the suspect drove a Honda with no license plate and a temporary registration tag. He also encouraged anyone with information about the incident or the suspect vehicle to call State Patrol at 360-654-1204.
Due to limited information, the State Patrol continues to investigate the hit-and-run rollover crash on 5 Freeway.
The perverse actions of a reckless driver can increase the likelihood of traffic collisions. If you are a driver, pay close attention to those around you. Always keep a considerable distance from others just in case harm is near.
