41-Year-Old Woman Killed in DUI Crash at Aviara Parkway and Cobblestone Road [CARLSBAD, CA]

Passenger Dies after Car Crashes into Pole on Aviara Parkway in Carlsbad

 
CARLSBAD, CA (September 15, 2019) – A 41-year-old woman was killed following a DUI crash Sunday night in Carlsbad.
 
The crash happened around 6:00 p.m. at the intersection of Aviara Parkway and Cobblestone Road.
 
CHP officials responded to the scene and located a 2002 Honda Civic smashed into a street light pole. The car’s two occupants, both from San Marcos, were still inside the vehicle.
 
The female passenger, whose name has not yet been released, did not survive and died at the scene.
 
Meanwhile, paramedics transported the 37-year-old male driver to a hospital for treatment of major injuries.
 
A stretch of northbound Aviara Parkway was temporarily closed as police investigated the crash.
