Traffic Delays Reported after Austin Multi-Vehicle Accident on 8700 South Interstate 35
AUSTIN, TX (July 24, 2024) – Tuesday afternoon, a 4-vehicle crash on 8700 South Interstate 35 led to injuries.
The incident happened at 12:30 p.m. n the 8700 block of South I-35 near Slaughter Lane, near the H-E-B and Home Depot in that area.
The crash involved several vehicles, including an 18-wheeler that overturned. Vehicles were spread across both sides of the interstate, with one catching fire.
At 12:40 p.m., AFD reported four vehicles were involved, and two people needed medical help. By 1:20 p.m., Austin-Travis County EMS (ATCEMS) confirmed one adult was taken to a hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, while another person was treated on the scene but declined transport.
At this time, the circumstances that led to the crash remained unclear. Once additional details become available, the public will be notified.
