4 People Injured in Head-on Car Crash on Agate Road [Shelton, WA]

4 Hurt in Shelton Car Accident

SHELTON, WA (January 9, 2019) – Four people suffered injuries, two of them were critical, after a head-on car crash on January 7 on a rural Mason County road.

According to reports, the icy condition was a factor in the collision. It was around 9:00 a.m. when the deputies and medics came to respond on Agate Road between Agate Loop and Agate Store, after receiving reports of a serious crash.

Chief Deputy Spurling of the Mason County Sheriff’s Office revealed that two totaled pickup trucks were located at the scene.

The two occupants of the small red pickup sustained critical injuries and were flown to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle. Meanwhile, the two other occupants of the large black pickup were transported to a local hospital with less serious injuries.

Information about the age and gender of the people involved in the collision were still unavailable as of this time. However, Spurling stated that the four victims were from the local area.

Spurling stated that the slick, icy conditions were a factor in the crash. It was also clarified that the drivers were not intoxicated.

As a result of the collision, Agate Road was shut down for about an hour after the accident but has since reopened.

The Mason County Sheriff’s Office is currently investigating the incident.
