Injuries Reported in Colfax Auto Accident near Wawawai Landing
COLFAX, WA (June 10, 2020) – Sunday afternoon, four people sustained injuries in a car crash near Wawawai Landing in Colfax.
The Whitman County Deputies and EMS personnel from Fire District 14 and Lewiston Fire responded to the incident at about 4:00 p.m.
Thus, they came to the scene after a report of a two-car accident near Wawawai Landing on the Snake River.
After the preliminary investigation, the deputies determined that the car crash began with a westbound car with two people inside. The vehicle tried to turn left into Wawawai Landing.
Meanwhile, a separate vehicle with four occupants also traveled west, trying to drive past the turning vehicle.
Subsequently, the collision left the four occupants in the passing car with injuries. Thus, responders took them to area hospitals.
Meanwhile, the two occupants from the other vehicle sustained minor injuries. Fortunately, the injuries were non-life-threatening.
Pending Investigations for Wawawai Landing Crash
Currently, the CHP spearheads this investigation.
Meanwhile, the police added that the driver of the passing vehicle will probably receive citations for inattentive driving and unlawful passing.
