Four Hospitalized after Four Car Crash in Merced

 
MERCED, CA (March 9, 2019) – On Saturday morning, four people were injured in a multi-car collision on R Street. The identity of the victims have not yet been released to the public.
 
According to the Merced Police Department, the accident happened around 11:55 AM. Dispatchers arrived near Loughborough Drive shortly after.
 
As per reports, a Ford Fusion rear ended multiple vehicles that were stopped at the intersection. A total of four cars were involved. In addition, the cause of the collision is currently unknown.
 
Paramedics on scene did not clarify the specific injuries sustained. Four occupants were transported to a nearby hospital for further treatment and evaluation. However, their current medical condition is unknown at this time.
 
There has been no further information released regarding the circumstances leading up to the incident at this time. An investigation is currently ongoing.
