Four Hospitalized in Collision Near SpaceX Boca Chica Facility [Brownsville, TX]

Injuries Reported in Highway 4 Multi-Vehicle Crash

Brownsville, TX (April 19, 2024) – Four people have been injured following a vehicle collision near SpaceX Boca Chica facility Thursday morning.

The three-vehicle crash happened approximately 7:30 a.m. on Highway 4.

Texas DPS officers said a tractor trailer was driving away from SpaceX when at the same time, a Jeep and a Silverado were traveling toward the facility.

The Jeep tried to pass the Silverado in a no passing zone and swiped the trailer as a result.

Afterward, the trailer swerved into the opposite lane and collided head-on with the Silverado.

There were four Silverado occupants during the collision. Two of them had to be freed from the vehicle.

Immediately, the responding medical team rushed three people from the Silverado and the Jeep driver to the hospital with minor injuries.

The authorities stated that the Jeep driver will be cited for passing in a no passing zone, not having insurance and having expired registration.

Here are some of the things we can do to prevent traffic accidents:

Start by inspecting your vehicle’s headlights and turn signals. Ensure the front and rear headlamps are working properly and visible from a few yards away.

Read your tire pressure to maintain the recommended pressure. In addition, check underneath your vehicle for leaks and loose objects.

You should always stay focused while on the road. Remove all distractions that could cause accidents, such as mobile phone use and unrestrained toddlers.

Most of all, it is also important to make sure the road is clear and avoid any possible collision.
