36-Year-Old Female Injured in Bremerton Car Collision near Highway 3

BREMERTON, WA (February 21, 2020) – Late Saturday night, a 36-year-old woman from Port Orchard required hospitalization following a car collision on Highway 304.

The crash happened when a speeding vehicle struck a car, then a light pole and eventually overturned down an embankment around 10:56 p.m.

Authorities received reports of the crash at the interchange of Highway 304 near Highway 3. The woman was driving a westbound 2003 Toyota at high rates of speed when she struck a westbound 2018 Chevy Cruze, with two occupants inside.

After colliding with the Chevy, the Toyota also struck a nearby light pole. The Toyota then traveled west down an embankment, overturned and landed on its wheels in the northbound lanes of Highway 3. Meanwhile, the Chevy landed on the southbound Highway 3 on-ramp.

Authorities shut down the lanes for around four hours while troopers came to the crash scene.

Responders transported the Toyota driver to Tacoma General Hospital. Reports also revealed that she did not wear a seat belt at the time of the collision. Charges remain pending as of this time.

Moreover, the Chevy’s driver and passenger remained uninjured. State Patrol also impounded both vehicles.

When driving, it is important to always travel within the speed limit to prevent any negative outcomes. Slow down if you see traffic stalling ahead to avoid hitting other vehicles.
