Fatal Oakland Multi-Vehicle Crash on Monticello Avenue

 
OAKLAND, CA (December 7, 2020) – Thursday afternoon, a 30-year-old man died in a multi-vehicle accident on Monticello Avenue near Fairfax Avenue.
 
The incident occurred at around 2:56 p.m. on Monticello Avenue near Fairfax Avenue. According to reports, a male driver of a southbound white Mercedes traveled at a high rate of speed.
 
Furthermore, it initially crashed with a Toyota Prius that was in front of him near Trask Street.
 
According to the police, a 41-year-old Oakland woman driving the Toyota and her two children were uninjured.
 
The crash then led the Mercedes to go out of control and struck some parked vehicles. Then, it crashed into a power pole in the 2300 block of Monticello Avenue near Fairfax Avenue. It caused the vehicle to rollover.
 
Some concerned citizens pulled the man from the wreckage. However, paramedics declared the man dead at the scene.
 
Moreover, the authorities haven’t clarified whether alcohol played a role in the crash.
 
The authorities urged anyone with information about the collision to contact traffic investigators at 510-777-8570.
