3 Seriously Injured in Car Accident on Highway 41 and Yosemite Springs Parkway [Coarsegold, CA]

Tristin Jacobs, Elizabeth Ellston and 19-Year-Old Elizabeth Ellston Hospitalized after Coarsegold Car Accident

 
COARSEGOLD, CA (May 30, 2019) – Three people sustained injuries in a car collision on Highway 41 on May 27.
 
At 2:45 a.m. on May 27, 21-year-old Tristin Jacobs of Coarsegold traveled south in a 1998 Mazda truck on Highway 41 north of Yosemite Springs Parkway.
 
At the same tie, 48-year-old Elizabeth Ellston carrying one passenger in a 2017 Ford F150 stopped to turn left in the southbound lane of Highway 41, directly ahead of the Mazda.
 
CHP revealed that the Mazda driver tried to stop but failed. His vehicle crashed with the right rear end of the Ford. The Mazda then went off the west edge of the highway, landing around 50 feet off the road on its roof.
 
Meanwhile, the Ford passenger, also named Elizabeth Ellston, 19, sustained possibly major injuries. Responders transported her to a hospital by LifeFlight. Both Ellstons are Coarsegold residents.
 
The medics also transported both drivers by ambulance to Community Regional Medical Center with moderate to major injuries.
 
Highway 41 remained close during the clearing up operation. The closed lanes reopened around 3:37 p.m.
 
The crash remains under investigation.
