5 Hurt in Mission Hills Crash on Golden State Freeway

MISSION HILLS, CA (October 25, 2020) – Friday night, three people required hospitalization after a multi-vehicle accident on the 118 Freeway.

The incident happened around 9:55 p.m., said the California Highway Patrol. It occurred on the northbound Golden State (5) Freeway, north of Ronald Reagan (118) Freeway.

The officers confirmed that the crash injured five people.

Margaret Stewart of the LAPD said that a person was stuck in a vehicle. Thus, firefighters freed the person and took the patient to a hospital in critical condition.

“The extrication was an extended operation due to the severity of damage to the vehicle,” Stewart added.

Meanwhile, responders also transported two other patients to a hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. Furthermore, two other patients refused hospitalization.

Due to the crash, the vehicles were left in lanes of traffic. Thus, authorities shut down all northbound lanes of the Ronald Reagan Freeway around 10:20 p.m.

A crash involving multiple vehicles can happen in congested roads, busy streets, and intersections. Moreover, it is important to drive defensively and abide by all driving laws. Thus, you can ensure your safety and the safety of surrounding vehicles, motorists, and pedestrians.

Dealing with Incidents Like Multi-Vehicle Accident on Golden State Freeway

Accidents can leave you or your passengers severely injured, disfigured, and permanently disabled. Common events on the road can just as swiftly become safety hazards.

To avoid being involved in an auto accident, a driver must aim high in steering. Don’t make your steering adjustments based on what is directly in front of you. But rather what is down the road. If the road is winding to the right, for example, look as far into the turn as possible. This will improve your safety and make your turns smoother.

Also, the most valuable step you can take in response to a vehicle crash is hiring a personal injury attorney. Personal injury attorneys prioritize your recovery. At the same time, securing your future from further losses a severe accident can bring.

“A common misconception is that personal injury lawyers don’t care. That is simply not true. Injury lawyers care about and want justice for their clients. Also, we are driven by the desire to make our clients whole again,” says Steve Baric of Sweet Lawyers, an attorney practicing for over 40 years.

If you or a loved one has recently been involved in a similar multi-vehicle accident, you do not have to face the aftermath alone. Our attorneys will guide you through every step of the way. Also, we are here to assure that you receive the justice and compensation that you deserve. Call our offices today at (800) 674 7852 for a free consultation with a professional in your area.
