3 People Hospitalized after Head-on Crash on Highway 154 near Foothill Road [Santa Barbara, CA]

3 Injured in Santa Barbara Auto Accident on Highway 154

 
SANTA BARBARA, CA (September 7, 2020) – Sunday afternoon, three people were hospitalized after a head-on crash on Highway 154.
 
The authorities received a report of the crash at about 1:30 p.m. on Highway 154, a mile up from Foothill Road and Cathedral Oaks Road. After receiving the report, the Santa Barbara County Fire, California Highway Patrol, and AMR came to the Highway 154 scene.
 
A Battalion Chief stationed near the area also came to the scene immediately. According to them, two cars collided head-on. The impact left both cars with major front end damages. Moreover, the CHP revealed that the cars were a blue SUV and a red sedan.
 
Meanwhile, firefighters also found three patients who needed heavy extrication from the wreckage.
 
Moreover, a patient suffered serious injuries while the two others sustained moderate injuries.
 
Responders took all three patients to Santa Barbara Cottage Hospital by ambulance.
 
At this time, the cause of the collision near Foothill Road remains under active investigation. Meanwhile, the roads reopened by 2:16 p.m.
