NEWHALL, CA (July 1, 2020) – Early Tuesday morning, three people sustained injuries in an auto accident on Highway 14 in Newhall.

At about 12:01 a.m., the Los Angeles County Fire Department firefighters received reports of an expanded traffic accident. It occurred on the northbound Highway 14, south of Newhall Avenue.

“We received reports of a vehicle that went over the rail and on its side, with smoke coming out of it,” Fire Department spokeswoman Leslie Lua revealed.

Moreover, the authorities suspect that the female driver was under the influence when the incident happened. Thus, the authorities administered a DUI investigation, CHP Officer Josh Greengard said.

Greengard also added that the driver and her two passengers suffered moderate injuries. Responders took all of them to the hospital.

Meanwhile, the authorities arrested the driver and released her at the hospital.
