Fatal Crash on Interstate 17 in Phoenix

 
Phoenix, AZ (August 13, 2020) – Thursday afternoon, three people died and two critical after multi-vehicle crash on Interstate 17 near Dunlap Avenue.
 
The incident happened around 5:50 p.m. on August 13.
 
According to reports, a truck towing a trailer was travelling southbound in the HOV lane when it stopped in the road to fix a mechanical issue. There the five occupants stood between the truck and the trailer on the freeway.
 
Then a vehicle travelling in the same lane struck the trailer, causing fatal injuries to three of the people standing. One person from the group suffered severe injuries and transported to the hospital. Another person remained uninjured.
 
Meanwhile, the other driver also suffered critical injuries and taken to the hospital. Their current status has not yet updated.
 
None of the identities is released at this time. Further investigation is ongoing.
