3 Injured in Vehicle Collision on Katy Freeway [Houston, TX]

Houston, TX (March 25, 2024) – Three people were injured following a vehicle collision on Katy Freeway Sunday night.

It was minutes before 10:15 p.m. when an officer located a stalled car in the second lane of the feeder road with their emergency lights on.

At the same time, a BMW was taking the Katy Freeway exit and attempted to swerve to prevent hitting the officer’s patrol car, however, the BMW struck both the stalled vehicle and the officer’s.

Two people occupying the stalled vehicle were transported to the hospital. The officer sustained a gash to the back of his head and was bleeding, he was rushed to Memorial Hermann Katy Hospital. Investigators said the officer remained conscious and was able to walk on his own.

Moreover, the BMW driver did not display signs of intoxication and cooperated with the authorities. They did not incur any injuries from the accident.

It’s unclear if the BMW driver will face any charges.
