3 Hospitalized after Costa Mesa Car Accident on 55 Freeway

 
COSTA MESA, CA (July 16, 2019) – Three people sustained injuries in a multi-car accident on 55 Freeway on July 12.
 
According to the Costa Mesa Fire Department that they conducted a heavy rescue on southbound 55 Freeway at Victoria Street around 2:50 p.m. They extricated a victim after the crash trapped the person inside one of the vehicles.
 
The Fire Department came to a report about a collision on the freeway about 2:35 p.m., Capt. Joseph Noceti said. A truck rear-ended a Chevrolet sedan, which sustained front-end damage.
 
Responders transported three people to local trauma centers with a varying degree of injuries.
 
Officers also closed the three right lanes on the freeway while crews work at the scene.
 
By 3:30 p.m., all the lanes reopened.
