Yakima 2-Vehicle Crash Results in Injuries
Yakima, WA (November 21, 2024) – Three people have been injured following a DUI crash on Interstate 82 Monday evening.
It was before 11 p.m. on November 18 when the collision happened on the eastbound lanes near milepost 34.
WSP said a 2015 Ford Fusion and a 2021 Nissan Rouge were eastbound on the freeway when the Ford struck the Nissan.
The Nissan rolled and rested on its top on the right shoulder of the highway.
The Ford, on the other hand, struck the cable barrier and stopped in the median.
As a result, the Nissan’s driver and its two passengers were transported. One of the passengers was not wearing a seatbelt.
WSP said the Ford driver was under the influence and was not wearing a seatbelt during the collision. The Ford driver was not injured.
Officers also said going too fast for road conditions was a factor in the collision.
