Injuries Reported in Clairemont Crash on Genesee Avenue

CLAIREMONT, CA (November 13, 2020) – Thursday afternoon, three people suffered injuries in an accident on Genesee Avenue and Chateau Drive.

The incident occurred at about 2:30 p.m. when a 2012 two-door Infiniti sedan traveled north on Genesee Avenue. Then, the vehicle failed to yield at a red light at Chateau Drive, said San Diego police Officer Robert Heims.

As a result, the sedan T-boned a 2020 Jeep Wrangler Sahara making a left turn from Chateau Drive onto Genesee Avenue.

After the crash, the 23-year-old Infiniti driver suffered spinal fractures. Furthermore, the 39-year-old female driver of the Jeep suffered a cut to her head.

Meanwhile, the 19-year-old male passenger in the Infiniti complained of pain.

Thus, medical responders transported all of them to hospitals for treatment.

All the injuries sustained in the crash were non-life-threatening.

Staying within the lanes of the road is an extremely important rule of the road. Moreover, if you feel yourself drifting into other lanes due to fatigue or any other reason, safely pull over and rest before continuing to drive. Also, you can call a friend or an Uber to pick you up if you feel like it would be unsafe to drive.
