3 Injured in Santa Barbara Car Accident

 
SANTA BARBARA, CA (March 15, 2019) – Three people sustained injuries Thursday morning in a car collision on Chapala Street. Their identities have not been disclosed.
 
Dispatchers received calls from witnesses in the area around 11:00 a.m., near Quinto Street. Officials say a northbound Honda Civic collided with an eastbound Toyota RAV4 for unknown reasons.
 
Firefighters extricated three people from the RAV4 upon arrival. The RAV4 reportedly landed on its side against a nearby utility pole. Meanwhile, the firefighters immediately freed the first patient from the RAV4. However, firefighters spent around fifteen minutes extricating the two other victims.
 
State officials added that an AMR ambulance transported two occupants to Santa Barbara Cottage Hospital. The status of their current condition has not been updated.
 
The injured victim’s identity remains undisclosed at this time. Furthermore, authorities shut down Chapala Street for a brief time during cleanup and preliminary investigation.
 
The cause of the accident is under investigation by the Santa Barbara Police Department. No further information has been released.
