28-year-old Woman Killed, 32-year-old Man Injured in Avenue L Crash Involving Jonathan Hong [Quartz Hill, CA]

1 Injured in Quartz Hill Pedestrian Accident on Avenue L

 
QUARTZ HILL, CA (September 8, 2020) – Friday morning, a 28-year-old woman died and a 32-year-old man was injured in an Avenue L crash involving Jonathan Hong.
 
The incident occurred about 3:15 a.m. on Avenue L, just east of 47th Street West. Moreover, the CHP report revealed that a 2012 Toyota Prius heading west on Avenue L at around 45-50 mph struck the two pedestrians crossing Avenue L.
 
Also, the authorities identified the vehicle driver as 25-year-old Jonathan Hong of Lake Hughes. According to reports, Hughes didn’t notice the pedestrians “due to the poor lighting conditions.”
 
As a result, the female pedestrian succumbed to fatal injuries at the scene. Furthermore, the authorities haven’t disclosed the identity of the victim due to pending family notification.
 
On the other hand, the 32-year-old man suffered major injuries and was taken to Antelope Valley Hospital.
 
Driver Jonathan Hong and some witnesses remained at the scene to help the victim. Upon the arrival of the authorities, they questioned Hong and released him from the scene.
 
“This is the 25th person killed so far this year in Antelope Valley CHP jurisdiction. You can help us prevent these senseless deaths by obeying all traffic signs and signals, obeying the speed limit, not driving or walking impaired, and always wearing your seatbelt,” the CHP revealed.
