28-Year-Old Man Injured in Motorcycle Crash on Carroll Way [Miramar, CA]

1 Seriously Injured after Motorcycle Crashes into Van near Carroll Road

 
MIRAMAR, CA (January 11, 2019) – A man was hospitalized Friday morning following a motorcycle crash on Carroll Way. The identity of the 28-year-old victim was not immediately disclosed to the public.
 
According to the San Diego Police Department, the incident happened near Carroll Road, at about 9:50 AM. A van turned out of a private driveway and into the path of the rider on his 2003 Yamaha R1 due to unknown circumstances.
 
The motorcyclist suffered head trauma, internal injuries, and fractures to his left ankle and left wrist. He was transported to Scripps Memorial Hospital La Jolla for treatment and evaluation. Further updates on his current medical condition were not provided.
 
The 63-year-old woman driving the van remained at the scene and cooperated with investigators. Alcohol was ruled out as a possible contributing factor in the crash, which remains under investigation. Additional information will be released once it becomes available.
