Man Seriously Injured in Car Accident on Road 222 and Saddleback Road [Bass Lake, CA]

25-Year-Old Hurt in Bass Lake Car Accident on Road 222

 
BASS LAKE, CA (March 6, 2020) – Friday evening, a 25-year-old man sustained serious injuries in a car accident on Road 222.
 
The crash occurred around 9:30 p.m. and led the driver’s subsequent arrest for suspicion of D.U.I., stated the California Highway Patrol.
 
A CHP report revealed that the Mariposa resident drove a 1998 Chevrolet Silverado pickup northbound on Road 222, just south of Saddleback Road. There, his vehicle steered to the right, left the paved portion of the roadway and then crashed head-on with a tree.
 
As a result, the driver suffered major injuries and a helicopter flew him to Fresno. Emergency personnel took the Mariposa man to Community Regional Medical Center for further treatment of major injuries.
 
“Alcohol was determined to be a factor in this collision and [the driver] was placed under arrest for suspicion of D.U.I.,” the report confirmed.
 
The crash remains in an active investigation.
