Speeding and DUI Suspected Factors Causing Crash on Eastern Avenue and Sunrise Street Central Valley
Las Vegas, NV (April 11, 2020) – A driver suspected of DUI and speeding was killed in a fatal crash on Eastern Avenue and Sunrise Street, Wednesday night.
The Metropolitan Police Department confirmed the victim died after the collision on Central Valley.
The victim was driving a red 2001 Audi TT when a white 2016 Toyota SUV slammed into the Audi.
According to the preliminary Metropolitan report, the Audi was heading north on South Eastern Avenue towards the intersection. The Audi then struck the oncoming Toyota on its passenger side in the southbound lanes.
The 24-year old driver of the Audi was pronounced dead on scene, due to the impact of the collision.
Officers say the fatal crash was said to be a result of speeding. Authorities also say the Audi driver showed signs of impairment.
Moreover, the 33-year old man driving the Toyota remained uninjured.
The Clark County coroner’s office will hold the identity of the victim until the family is notified. Once available, more details will be given.
