1 Dead and 1 Injured in Hercules Auto Accident on Highway 4

 
HERCULES, CA (June 24, 2021) – Early Wednesday, a 20-year-old Antioch man died in a fiery crash on Highway 4 in Hercules, California.
 
According to reports, the crash happened at about 1:00 a.m. on the westbound lanes of Highway 4.
 
Reports revealed that the Antioch man crashed his vehicle on an offramp. As a result, the vehicle caught fire and caused his 18-year-old passenger serious injuries. Upon the firefighters’ arrival, they found the car blazing with fire. Meanwhile, they extricated both victims.
 
However, the male driver succumbed to injuries at the scene.
 
At this time, the identity of the deceased remains undisclosed due to pending family notification. The police added that they continue to investigate the cause of the crash.
 
Meanwhile, the 18-year-old female passenger from Hercules remained hospitalized Wednesday afternoon.
 
Also, the police said that they haven’t determined whether drugs or alcohol played a role in the crash. They urged witnesses to contact CHP investigations at 925-646-4980.
