Toddler Miguel Angel Morales Struck and Killed in North Sandhill Road
Las Vegas, NV (June 08, 2021) – On Monday, 2-year-old Miguel Morales of Las Vegas died in Douglas A. Selby Park pedestrian accident.
The fatal crash took place at about 7:38 p.m. on 1293 North Sandhill Road, near East Washington Avenue.
The authorities said Morales was struck by a northbound 2004 Chevrolet Tahoe driven by a 19-year-old Las Vegas. The driver was approaching a park exit ramp when the accident happened.
“The investigation initiated by the LVMPD Fatal Detail indicated the vehicle was traveling north to exit the park and continue on North Henry Drive,” an officer said. “The 2-year-old juvenile was running across the ramp into the path of the approaching vehicle. The front of the vehicle struck the pedestrian, forcing him to the ground.”
Emergency rescuers rushed Morales to University Medical Center, where he died. The authorities have not immediately released the cause and manner of his death.
Meanwhile, the officers stated that the driver was not impaired and remained at the scene, also excessive speed does not appear to be a factor in the incident.
