2 Women Hospitalized After Auto-Pedestrian Crash on North Wenatchee Avenue in Wenatchee

Wenatchee, WA (October 21, 2024) – On Monday, two women sustained injuries in a crash on North Wenatchee Avenue.

According to the Wenatchee Police Department, the accident happened just before 9 a.m. at North Wenatchee Avenue and Ninth Street. 

The driver, attempting a left turn in his pickup truck, struck the two women, ages 23 and 24.

Officers report that the driver claimed he did not see the women, who were treated at the scene and then taken to Confluence Health Hospital for further evaluation. 

Wenatchee Police Chief Edgar Reinfeld stated that both women were fortunate to have only minor injuries. “This could have been much worse,” Reinfeld said. “A couple of feet one way or the other, and he could have seriously hurt them both.”

The driver, whose identity has not been disclosed, is expected to receive a citation for failing to yield to pedestrians in a crosswalk.
