Police Chase Led to Fatal Collision on FM 1960
Houston, TX (November 27, 2023) On Monday morning, a police chase turned into a horrific 2-vehicle crash on FM 1960 and claimed the life of a 19-year-old motorcyclist.
According to the Houston PD, the fatal collision happened at the intersection of FM 1960 and I-45 around 2:08 a.m.
Reports say that officers noticed 2 drivers were racing northbound on I-45 and Gulf Bank, when officials attempted to stop the drivers, a 16-year-old male driver refused to stop and fled the scene. The teen reached speeds of up to 100 miles an hour.
Officials say that moments later, the teens vehicle, exited FM 1960, ran a red light, and then crashed into the 19-year-old motorcyclist. Moreover, the teen continued to driver the vehicle for another half a mile before the car became disabled.
Authorities say that the teen attempted to escape on foot, but officers were able to apprehend the suspect. Officials learned that the car the teen was driving was reported stolen on Sunday.
Meanwhile, officials pronounced the motorcyclist dead at the scene.
Police have arrested the suspect and he is facing multiple charges.
