2-Vehicle Crash on Castillo Street Injures Scooter Rider [Santa Barbara, CA]

Santa Barbara, CA (September 3, 2023) On Thursday evening, a scooter rider was hospitalized after a 2-vehicle crash on Castillo Street.

Authorities say that the vehicle-scooter collision happened around 7:37 p.m. in in the parking lot of S.B. Athletic, on the 500 Block of Castillo Street.

Reports say that a gray Toyota SUV cut off a man on an electric scooter, the scooter struck the right side of the SUV. Teh impact of the crash ejected the rider and his body surfed over the hood, landing hard on the asphalt.

Medics transported the man to Santa Barbara Cottage Hospital, the man had visible abrasions to the right side of his face. Officials say that the patient was sent to the hospital to assess internal injuries.
